This corporate office in Riyadh had a commercial tile floor that had reached the end of its working life. The reception, pantry, staff corridors, and the large multi-purpose conference room — where work chairs are dragged and repositioned dozens of times a day — were all covered in the same tile. Years of chair dragging and heavy foot traffic had left the grout lines cracked, eroded, and stained dark with ground-in dirt, and many tile edges had chipped until the surface was uneven enough to undermine the company's image. The worst part was the noise: every chair dragged across the tile screeched during meetings. Management wanted one seamless surface with no joints, able to take constant furniture movement, installed directly over the existing tile with no demolition and no more than a few days of disruption.
Instead of ripping out the old tile — and the dust, rubble, and two weeks of downtime that come with it — we built the finish directly over the existing tile across 185 m² in four working days. On day one we ground the tile surface with industrial diamond equipment to open the pores and create a clean key, treated the unstable joints deeply, and applied a high-penetration structural primer. To stop the tile grid underneath from telegraphing through the surface later, we embedded a strong fiberglass mesh into the first polymer-modified coats — this exact step is what separates a proper microcement flooring installation from one that cracks over tile joints within months. Over the next two days our technicians hand-trowelled successive structural layers into a flat, continuous matrix, and on day four — after full curing — we sealed the whole surface with commercial-grade polyurethane built to resist scratching, impact, and the harsh daily cleaning of a high-use office.
The result is one continuous office surface across the full 185 m² — thousands of linear metres of dirty grout joints are gone, and the noise went with them. Work chairs in the conference room now glide silently with no screech and no scratching, and cleaning the seamless surface is a quick mop instead of an endless grout scrub. Despite the technical challenge of going over an existing tile floor, a strong bond with the substrate ensures it won't peel or crack, and the whole job was delivered within the strict four-day window with no interruption to the company's working hours — exactly what management needed.

“We had a serious issue with our old tiled floors due to the constant dragging of training chairs, but this seamless application solved everything. The execution was fast, professional, and took only 4 days. The surface is incredibly tough and highly practical for daily maintenance.”
